Boxful of Nightmares

A Personal Memoir from Memphis

Published by TigerEye Publishing

Boxful of Nightmares is Terry Hobbs’ personal account of one of Arkansas’ most controversial murder cases — the West Memphis Three.

In 1993, the brutal murders of three eight-year-old boys — Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Chris Byers — shook West Memphis, Arkansas. Their mutilated bodies were found submerged in a muddy ditch. The investigation led to the conviction of three teenagers, but in the years that followed, a movement fueled by documentaries, online forums, and celebrity supporters insisted the three were innocent.

After exhausting all alternative suspects, supporters began falsely accusing Terry Hobbs — the stepfather of Stevie Branch — despite no evidence ever connecting him to the murders. In this book, Terry Hobbs shares his side of the story: the tragedy, the false accusations, and the lifelong consequences of being caught in a media-fueled frenzy.
